Robin water softener
For the Robin water softener, Artori collaborated with designer Tore Bleuzé (Studio Obi-One) to explore several design directions.
Rather than immediately selecting a single concept, four distinct design styles were developed. Each direction was translated into sketches and concept proposals, always aligned with the manufacturing technology defined during the technical feasibility analysis.
By evaluating multiple design visions side by side, a well-founded design decision could be made.
Four design directions. Four different perspectives on the same product — from moodboards to sketches.
Robin water softener
Soft
The Soft direction focused on creating a sense of warmth and approachability.
Rounded shapes, flowing lines and subtle colour accents gave the product a friendly appearance, allowing it to blend naturally into a residential environment.
Pure
The Pure direction was driven by simplicity.
Clean geometric shapes and carefully controlled curves resulted in a sleek, timeless design, where clarity, balance and minimalism take centre stage.
Dynamic
The Dynamic direction embraced movement and expression.
A combination of flowing and sharper lines, together with double-curved surfaces, gave the design a more energetic and contemporary character.
Rugged
The Rugged direction explored a more robust design language.
Strong lines and chamfered edges emphasised durability and strength, resulting in a product with a solid and reliable appearance.
Choosing the Dynamic Direction
After evaluating the different design proposals, the client selected the Dynamic direction.
This concept became the foundation for the further development of the product. The design was subsequently refined into a manufacturable product, after which Artori took care of the engineering and production support.
The result?
A water softener with a distinctive character, where form and technology reinforce one another, and every line contributes to a dynamic, contemporary appearance.
