Design in function of budgetary and technological feasibility.

At Artori we don't take any chances when designing a product. The product design, the third step in our 5-step product development process, immediately reaps the benefits of the first two steps, the design sprint and the product scan.

Tailored to the target group

The basis of good design starts with understanding the target group for whom the product is being developed. After all, for every product we aim for real solutions for real people. During the first step of our product development process, the design sprint, we tested a prototype of the future product with potential customers so we already know we are on the right track.

In relation to the chosen production technology and associated costs

During the product scan (the second step of our product development process), we make a selection of production technology(ies) and provide a corresponding investment overview.

The chosen production technology and the associated costs are decisive in the product development process and help determine the direction of the design.

Creative and realistic

A good technical basis is essential to design a beautiful product. A creative but realistic design increases the chance of success. This does not put any limit on the design.

A good designer ensures a beautiful design in relation to budgetary and technological feasibility and at the same time responds to the latest trends.

In practice: Robin water softener

When designing the Robin water softener, we challenged the customer by proposing a number of styles with accompanying sketches: soft style, pure style, dynamic style and rugged style. We kept the feasibility of the production technology in mind during the design process.

The dynamic style ultimately emerged as the winner. Watch the video and find out for yourself.
