Their flexible IoT platform combines plug-and-play sensors with AI-driven analytics, allowing companies to start quickly with a single solution and scale step by step toward long-term value.

During the ABISS trade fair in Kortrijk, Artori’s Product Development Director Steven met the VersaSense team - marking the start of a valuable collaboration.

The challenge

VersaSense needed to integrate new PCBs into their existing sensor housing, which no longer met their requirements.

This kicked off an intensive engineering trajectory in which combined expertise and close collaboration made the difference. Artori developed the mechanical design and selected the most suitable materials to withstand the industrial challenges faced by VersaSense’s customers.

From concept to production

VersaSense first shared their initial benchmark and housing requirements, with modularity as the top priority. Since the enclosure needed to achieve an IP65 rating, the main challenge lay in developing the right packaging and sealing solutions for all components.

At the same time, the housing had to remain as compact as possible while accommodating every part.

During the technical feasibility analysis, we created a rudimentary 3D model of the enclosure and seals. Achieving the required modularity meant implementing seals on three levels. Based on this setup, we estimated part prices and tooling costs.

After receiving positive feedback from VersaSense, the design was further refined. A subtle detail of their logo was integrated into the sensor caps, resulting in a clean and robust aesthetic. Artori handled the full engineering scope as well as the production of the enclosure, including custom-made O-rings.
